Healthy School Lunch Ideas! #1

Hey Everyone! Today I wanted to show you a couple of healthy school lunch ideas! A healthy school lunch does NOT have to be boring! It can be fun! Both of these are super yummy and fun, but are also nutritious and balanced to get you through the day!  I like to pack my lunch the night before to save time in the morning. It makes early mornings much less hectic! Even if your not in school, you can also use the ideas for work or just a busy day when you need to pack some snacks! For this first lunch idea,

I wanted to recreate .two child hood favorites of mine! A classic turkey and cheese and "ants on a log"! It's a perfect balance of protein, carbs, and healthy fats! This is such a simple wrap to make! It's also very easy to eat on the go!1 Ezekiel sprouted grain tortilla Natural turkey 1 Laughing Cow Light Creamy Swiss Wedge (only 35 calories a wedge!)
No Sticky Fingers "Ants on a Log": I wanted to make these a lot less messy, so instead of spreading the peanut butter and raisins on the celery and packing it, I made into a peanut butter, raisin, and cinnamon dip! Feel free to swap the raisins for any dried fruit, coconut, or dark chocolate chips!2 stalks of celery1 Tbs. peanut butter 1 Tbs. raisins and a dash of cinnamon! Now just pack it up and enjoy! I paired mine with a mini Apple Pie Lara Bar for a mid morning snack! The mini size is just enough to get you through that 3rd period before lunch!2. Sweet & Savory AND Vegetarian! The second lunch idea something a little more "fancy" I guess! I wanted to include a vegetarian option that is still protein packed! A blueberry, feta, walnut, quinoa salad and a white bean salad paired with a piece a fruit is a yummy sweet and savory combo!Blueberry, Walnut, & Feta Quinoa Salad:I just experimented with this combo on quinoa recently and it's my new favorite! Quinoa is a great option instead of rice because it's a good source of healthy carbs, full of protein, and gluten free! Plus the walnuts a great source of healthy fats, high in omega 3s, which help your brain stay ocused!1 serving of quinoa 1/4 cup blueberries2 Tbs. walnuts2 Tbs. feta cheeseThis is a pre- made bean salad I bought at The Fresh Market, but it's super easy to make at home too! Beans are another great source of vegetarian protein!Jumbo white beans cherry tomatoesroasted red peppergreen peppera light vinaigrette dressing
By the way, my lunch box is the "Stay Cooler" from Vera Bradley in the "Lilly Bell" print! I just got it and I absolutely love it! It has so much room to keep any size lunch containers/tupperware! I've always had trouble fitting lunches into regular lunch boxes because of the shape. I highly recommend this one! I  hope this gave you a few new ideas to switch up your school lunch! Stay happy and healthy and have a great start back to school!
